ABOUT ME |
Who am I?
Hi, I’m Beau. I am a working Mechanical Engineer with both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in mechanical engineering. For the past year, I have been working at Protonex Technology Corp. and Upstart Power LLC. (a Start-up spin off of Protonex) on the cutting edge of Solid Oxide fuel Cell technology. My responsibilities include design, prototype, test, and manufacturing engineering.
While in school I completed three six month long internships or coops. I used these coops to widen my skills set by working in a variety of engineering positions for multiple industries. Working for Parker Hannifin allowed me to learn manufacturing and quality engineering. At Pratt and Whitney, I worked as a design engineer on commercial and military engines. Rogers Corp provided me with the opportunity to lead a production and experimentation lab, and work in a research environment. In addition to these coops, I developed my design, prototyping, and manufacturing skills as a member of the Baja SAE team, having worked on every system of the car. I use personal projects to challenge myself to learn new skills. As an excuse to learn woodworking, I decided to design and build an English Longbow. After watching a NOVA documentary on blacksmithing, I designed and built my own forge and spent the summer selling pieces I made using it. After getting tired of seeing everyone wearing the same clothes, I set up a silk screen in my apartment and started making shirts for friends and family, as well as selling some custom shirts. Because I have an obsession with cars, I am currently working on rebuilding the engine and suspension of a 1987 Jaguar XJS so I can have a street legal track car. I working with my hands, and am always looking for an excuse to build something new. My experiences thus far have helped me to become a well-rounded engineer, capable of taking on any challenge I may encounter in my professional career. I am hoping to work in a small, fast paced environment where creativity is encouraged. Please find my resume attached below. ![]()
